  25.   DBtoWEB is a utility to take information stored in a database 
  26.   and generate a set of web pages from that data.á The pages are 
  27.   based on templates which contain special tags to tell DBtoWEB 
  28.   what database fields to place where. á These templates can 
  29.   contain repeating sections which query the database for more 
  30.   information giving you more flexibility in the way you present 
  31.   your data.

  33.   In other words at the push of a button you can generate 
  34.   hundreds of web pages based on a single template and a database!

  37. DBtoWEB License
  38. ===============

  40.   Use of DBtoWEB Standard (hereinafter 'SOFTWARE') is contingent on 
  41.   your agreement to the following terms:
  42.  
  43.   1. GRANT OF LICENSE
  44.  
  45.   M. Collinge (hereinafter MC) grants you a limited non-exclusive
  46.   license to use the SOFTWARE free of charge if you are a student, 
  47.   faculty member or staff member of an educational institution or 
  48.   your use of the SOFTWARE is exclusively at home for non-commercial 
  49.   purposes.

  51.   If you do not meet the requirements for free use of the SOFTWARE, 
  52.   you may use the SOFTWARE for up to fifteen (15) days for the 
  53.   purpose of evaluating whether to purchase a commercial license.
  54.  
  55.   If you are using the SOFTWARE free of charge under the terms of 
  56.   this Agreement, you are not entitled to any support whatsoever.

  58.   2. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY

  60.   THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED AS IS WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO 
  61.   THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, MC. FURTHER DISCLAIMS 
  62.   ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES 
  63.   OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND 
  64.   NONINFRINGEMENT. THE ENTIRE RISK ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR PERFORMANCE 
  65.   OF THE PRODUCT AND DOCUMENTATION REMAINS WITH RECIPIENT. TO THE MAXIMUM

  69.   LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS 
  70.   INFORMATION, OR OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS) ARISING OUT OF THIS AGREEMENT OR 
  71.   THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF MC HAS BEEN ADVISED 
  72.   OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

  74.   3. SCOPE OF GRANT

  76.   You may not reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the SOFTWARE. MC 
  77.   shall retain title and all ownership rights to the SOFTWARE.

  79.   4. COPYRIGHT

  81.   This SOFTWARE is protected by copyright laws and international copyright 
  82.   treaties, as well as other intellectual property laws and treaties.

  84.   5. MAINTENANCE

  86.   MC is not obligated to provide maintenance or updates for the SOFTWARE. 
  87.   However, any maintenance or updates provided by MC shall be covered 
  88.   by this Agreement.

  90.   6. DISTRIBUTION

  92.   The SOFTWARE may be freely distributed provided that it is not modified 
  93.   and the original archive remains intact with all accompanying files, and 
  94.   provided that no fee is charged (except for any reasonable fees necessary 
  95.   to cover costs of distribution media).

  98. Purchasing a license 
  99. ====================

  101.   DBtoWEB is now available in two versions, Standard and Professional.
  102.   Standard is free for non-commercial use but everyone else must
  103.   purchase a license for DBtoWEB Professional.  This version includes
  104.   additional functionality not available in the Standard version.
  105.  
  106.   It only costs ú10 GBP ($20 US) to register a copy, so if you intend 
  107.   you use it past the trial period or want the access to the more
  108.   powerfull features of the Professional version, follow the instructions
  109.   below to register your copy of DBtoWEB.

  111.   1) Make out a cheque or postal order made payable to M. Collinge
  112.   2) Send your name, email address and postal address to the address below
  113.   3) If possible email me at  registration@endpoint.freeserve.co.uk  to
  114.      tell me your registration information is on its way.

  152.   the Microsoft Data Access SDK 2.0 Typical Install for x86 
  153.   installed on your PC, otherwise DBtoWEB may not function
  154.   correctly.

  210. Known Bugs
  211. ==========
  212.  
  213.   - There is a problem connecting to an MS Acccess database via
  214.     ODBC (it will cause DBtoWEB to lock up).  This is NOT a 
  215.     problem with this application but a known fault with ODBC.  
  216.  
  217.     To get around this problem simply use the MS Acccess 
  218.     database file instead of ODBC DSN.
  219.  
  220.   - Some ODBC drivers lock up DBtoWEB.  One example is the
  221.     Microsoft FoxPro driver which comes with ODBC 3.51.  To get
  222.     round this problem use the drivers which come with the
  223.     Microsoft Data Access SDK 2.0 Typical Installation.
